Administrative Services - Agents

Use the Administrative Services > Agents node to view and control the various agents that are running as part of your Aperi environment. You can manage the following agents through the Agents node:

Click one of the nodes under the Agents node to:

See CIMOMs, Data, Inband Fabric, and Out of Band Fabric for information about the details you can view and the actions you can perform against each of the agents.

Viewing the status of agents

To view the status of agents:

  1. Click the Data, Inband Fabric, or Out of Band Fabric node under Administrative Services > Agents.
  2. View the State column for each agent listed in the content pane. The following icons appear in this column to indicate the status of an agent:

Status Indicator

Description

[Normal status icon]

represents an active agent that is operating normally (enabled).

[Warning status icon]

represents an active agent that is running with warnings.

[Disabled/Down status icon]

represents an agent that is currently "disabled" or "down". A disabled agent represents an agent that is still running but with which the server is not communicating. To re-enable an agent, right click it and select either Check or Enable from the pop-up menu.

A "down" agent is an agent that is no longer running. To start the agent, you must restart the agent service on the machine where the agent is installed.

[Unreachable status icon]

represents an agent that is unreachable and not responding to the server. This might occur when the agent is not running but did not inform the server that it was shutting down or when a network problem has occurred.

[Upgrading status icon]

indicates that the agent is being upgraded.

[Reassigned status icon]

represents an agent that has been re-assigned to another server.

[Unknown status icon]

indicates that the status of the agent is unknown.
