Agents - CIMOM

Use this window to view information about a CIMOM agent.

Field Descriptions

Field Name

Description

Service URL

The service URL of the CIMOM containing the IP address of the CIMOM, the port on which the CIMOM is listening, and the protocol used for communication. This URL has a protocol [http|https], an IP or Hostname, and a port number. For example: https://9.47.97.128:9551

Connection Status The status of this CIMOM with respect to Aperi. Possible values are: SUCCESS, UNCONFIGURED, UNKNOWN, INVALID_NAMESPACE, TIMEOUT, REFUSED,    LOGIN_FAILED, SSL_HANDSHAKE_ERROR, SSL_REGISTRATION_INVALID, CIMCLIENT_ERROR

Interop Schema Namespace

Enter the interoperability namespace of the CIMOM. This namespace within the CIMOM allows for accessing the CIM Interop Schema (including the class instances of the Server Profile) and determines how the application interacts with the CIMOM when retrieving information.

Display name

The name of the CIMOM as specified by the CIMOM provider that will appear in the Aperi interface.

Description

The optional description that was entered on the Add Cimom Agent window.

Field Name

Password

The password for the CIMOM.

Password Confirm

Re-enter the password to confirm that you typed it correctly.

Trustore Location

The location (path on this computer) of a certificate file for certificate based authentication in the https protocol.

Hi Name

The name of the Human Interface Service (if any) supported by this CIMOM.

Software Level

The software version level of the CIMOM agent

Protocol Version

The version of the cim-xml protocol.

Authentication Version

The authentication mechanism supported by the CIMOM. This field can contain the following values: Unknown, None, Other, Basic, Digest.

Alias

The alias of the CIMOM.

Service ID The service ID for the CIMOM.

Protocol

The communication protocol used for the CIMOM. Possible values are http and https.

SLP Attributes

The standard set of attributes for this CIMOM. The attributes are retrieved via SLP.

Connection Status

The status of the connection to the CIMOM.

Status Timestmap

The date and time when the Connection Status information was last collected.

Test CIMOM connectivity before updating

Check this box to ensure that communication to the CIMOM is working properly before updating information about that CIMOM.

Adding a CIMOM agent

To add a CIMOM agent:

  1. Expand Administrative Services > Agents in the navigation tree.
  2. Left click the CIMOM node.
  3. Click Add in the content pane.
  4. Complete the fields on the Add CIMOM window and click OK.

Performing actions against CIMOM agents

You can perform a number of administrative actions against the agents listed under the node. Different actions are available for each agent depending on its status. To perform actions against an agent:

  1. Expand Administrative Services > Agents in the navigation tree.
  2. Left click the CIMOM node.
  3. Select an agent by clicking on its row.
  4. Click any of the following buttons to perform actions against the agent:

Setting the refresh rate

You can set the rate at which the data in the table is updated. To do this, click the down arrow in the Refresh Rate field and select a different value. All values in the list represent minutes.
