Agents - Inband Fabric

Use this window to view information about an Inband Fabric agent, including its status, IP address and host name, and the HBAs associated with the agent.

Field Descriptions

Field Name	Description
State	The status of the agent.
IP Address	IP address of the machine on which an agent is installed.
Host name	Host name of the machine on which an agent is installed.
Operating system and version	The type of operating system and version that is running on the host machine.

HBA Data

Field Name	Description
Identifier	The identifier for the HBA.
Status	The status of the HBA.
Version	The version of the firmware running on the HBA.

Performing actions against Inband Fabric agents

You can perform a number of administrative actions against the agents listed under the node. Different actions are available for each agent depending on its status. To perform actions against an agent:

Expand Administrative Services > Agents in the navigation tree.
Left click the Inband Fabric node.
Select an agent by clicking on its row.
Click any of the following buttons to perform actions against the agent:

Check - Check the status of the agent and update its status indicator accordingly.
View Log - View the log file for the agent in the content pane. The log file contains informational, warning, and error messages for the previous sessions of the agent. Use the content of the log file to troubleshoot any errors that might occur during agent startup, processing, or shutdown.
By default, information from the last 5 sessions of the agent appears in the log window. A session starts when the agent is started and ends when the agents is stopped. You can increase or decrease the number of agent sessions that are kept in the history by changing the value for the logFilesKept parameter in the agent.config file.
Log files for an agent are located in the agent install directory. The agent.config file is also located in the agent install directory.

Remove - Remove the agent from the function tree and the database repository. Data discovered by the agent up to this point is not removed from the database repository. This action is available for inactive agents only.
Refresh - Refresh the data displayed on this page.

Setting the refresh rate

You can set the rate at which the data in the table is updated. To do this, click the down arrow in the Refresh Rate field and select a different value. All values in the list represent minutes.
