Edit Text of the Email Message

Use this window to edit the text of an email that will go out to a user upon a triggered alert.

Subject

Enter the text that will appear in the subject line of the alert notification email.

Text

Enter the text of the alert notification e-mail.

Click on a parameter at the bottom of the window to include a value represented by that parameter in the e-mail. The following parameters are provided for most Data Manager e-mail alerts:

  • {Run Number} - This value represents the run number of the aggregation job.
  • {"Aggregator"}
  • {Name} - This value represents the name of the aggregation job.
  • {Failed Count} - This value represents the number of times the aggregation job has failed.
  • {Total} - This value represents the number of computers upon which the aggregation job has failed.

Additional parameters are described below. Note that the available parameters for a particular alert will vary based on the alert type (for example, a switch alert or a fabric alert) and the selected triggering condition. <text unavailable> indicates that there are no parameters available for a particular e-mail.

  • Computer - the host name of the computer
  • Disk Information - the manufacturer and serial number of the disk
  • Current Value - the current value of the specified item; for example, the current number of defects
  • Previous Value - the previous value of the specified object
  • Threshold - the specified threshold for the object
  • Mount Point - the mount point of a file system
  • Virtual-Server Name - the name of the specified virtual server
  • Cluster Name - the name of the cluster
  • Current-Node Name - the new location of the virtual server
  • Old-Node Name - the previous location of the virtual server
  • Count - the number of times an action has occurred; such as attempts to ping a host
  • Old Version - the previous version of an object; such as an HBA driver
  • New Version - the new version of an object
  • HBA Driver - the HBA driver

Data Manager ->Alerting-> Filesystem Alerts

  • Computer - the host name of a computer
  • Mount Point - the mount point of a file system
  • Threshold - the specified threshold for a particular value; such as free space exceeded
  • Current Value - the current value of the specified item
  • Percentage - the current value of a specified item, expressed as percentage

Disk Manager->Alerting->Storage Subsystem Alerts

  • Computer - the host name of the computer
  • Subsystem - the storage subsystem to which the alert refers
  • Current Value - the current value of the specified object
  • Previous Value - the previous value of the specified item
  • Old Version - the previous version of an object; such as an HBA driver
  • New Version - the new version of an object
  • Controller - the controller for the specified subsystem
  • Volume - the specified volume on a subsystem
  • Pool - the pool on the specified subsystem

Fabric Manager->Alerting-> Fabric Alerts

  • Fabric - the label or identifier of the fabric
  • Switch - the name of the specified switch
  • Zone - the name of the specified zone
  • ZoneSet - the name of the specified zone set
  • ZoneAlias - the zone alias
  • ZoneMember - the name of the specified zone member
  • FromEntity Type - the entity type that originated the specified connection
  • ToEntity Type - the entity type of the target of the specified connection

Fabric Manager->Alerting->Switch Alerts

  • Switch - the label or identifier of the specified switch
  • Port - the label or identifier of the specified port
  • Blade - the label or identifier of the specified blade
  • Device Name - the name of the specified device
  • Current Value - the current value of the specified object
  • Threshold - the specified threshold for this value

Fabric Manager->Alerting->Endpoint Device Alerts

  • Endpoint - the name or identifier of the endpoint device
  • Node - the name or identifier of the specified node
  • Old Version - the previous version of the endpoint device
  • New Version - the new version of the endpoint device
