Services - Agent window
Use this window to view information about the Data Manager agent service.

Administering the Agent Service
You can perform a number of administrative actions against the agent
service, including viewing its log, configuring tracing, and shutting
it down. To perform actions against the service:
- Expand the Services > Data Server.
- Right-click on a service.
- Select one of the following actions from the pop-up menu to perform against the service:
- View log - View log for the service. The log is displayed in the content pane.
- Start - Start the service. This option appears when the service is down.
- Configure Tracing - Set tracing options for the service on the Agent Tracing Configuration window.
- Shutdown - Shut down the processes on the server that receive requests from agents. If you choose this option, you must
restart agent service before the server will resume receiving requests from agents. You can choose to shutdown in the following ways:
- Normal - Shut down cleanly, letting all processing finish
- Immediate - Shut down quickly
- Abort - Shut down, stopping whatever is in process
