Alerting - Alert Log

Use the alert log to view all the alerts generated by alert and monitoring jobs within Aperi Storage Manager. Through the alert log you can view:

>All alerts generated by Aperi Storage Manager
Alerts generated by each component, including:

Alerts directed to you (the user currently logged into the product session)

If there are active alerts, the Alert Log node will be displayed in red in the navigation tree. Each alert type node under the Alert Log node will also have a red circle beside it to indicate that it has active alerts.

Performing actions against alerts

When you view the alerts for an alert type, you can perform actions against those alerts:

To view or edit detailed information about an alert: click an alert type under the Alert Log node. Left-click next to the alert whose information you want to view. Information about that alert appears in the content pane.
To view logs for the alert: click an alert type under the Alert Log node. Right click an alert and select View Script Log or View Job Log. Information about the log appears in the content pane.
To edit the definition of the job that triggered the alert: click an alert type under the Alert Log node. Right click an alert and select Edit Definition. Information about the log appears in the content pane.

Button Descriptions

The following buttons appear on the alert log windows.

Description

View (All, Alerts directed to user ID, and Disk Alerts only)

Choose an alert type from this drop down list to view the alerts of that type only.

Clear

Clear the selected alerts.

Delete

Delete the selected alerts from the alert log.

Clear All

Clear all of the alerts in the report.

Delete All

Delete all of the alerts in the current report from the alert log.

Refresh

Regenerate the report you are viewing to pick up any newly generated alerts that have been triggered since you last generated the report.
