There
are several sections on this page. You can expand or collapse any section
by clicking the + or - icon to the left of each section heading. When a section
is collapsed, you will see the section heading with a status or status summary.
The
top buttons are:
- Refresh
- Updates the contents of the Configuration Utility.
These are the sections for the Disk Manager page:
- Storage Subsystems
- The Storage Subsystems section provides information about the storage
subsystems that have been discovered through a CIMOM discovery. If a
storage subsystem is not shown in the table, the CIM agent for that
subsystem needs to be added and a CIMOM discovery needs to be run.
The prerequisite to enabling a subsystem for provisioning and performance
monitoring is to run a probe job of the system.
- Fields
-
- Subsystem
- Name of the storage subsystem.
- Label
- Label for the storage subsystem.
- Type
- Type of storage subsystem.
- Status
- Status of the storage subsystem. The status can be:
- Normal
- Indicated by a green square icon.
- Critical
- Indicated by a red circle icon.
- Warning
- Indicated by a yellow triangle icon.
- Unreachable
- Indicated by a gray icon.
-
- Buttons
-
- Show Storage Subsystem Details
- Displays the Subsystem Details window when a storage subsystem
is selected. Links to .
- Show Storage Subsystem Asset Report
- Displays the storage subsystem asset report when a storage
subsystem is selected. Links to .
- Storage Topology
- Displays the topology for the storage subsystems. Links to .
Note: If you do not
see a storage subsystem in the table, a CIMOM discovery needs to be
run.
- CIMOM Discovery
- This section provides information about the CIM agents discovered
by Aperi. CIM agents are required for the
storage subsystems to be discovered. A CIMOM discovery finds all the
devices managed by the known CIM agents and gathers basic information
about these devices. A CIM agent managing the storage subsystem and
CIMOM discovery are required to discover storage subsystems in the environment.
- Buttons
-
- Run CIMOM Discovery now
- Creates a CIMOM discovery job using all of the defined CIM
agents and does not scan the local subnet. The job is run immediately.
When you run the job, a pop-up window prompts you for the job
name. Enter a job name and click OK.
A pop-up window informs you that the job has been submitted.
Click OK. The results are displayed
when the job has completed. Links to .
- Edit CIMOM Discovery
- Opens the Edit CIMOM window so you can edit the CIMOM discovery
job information. Links to .
- Storage Subsystem Probes
- This section provides information on subsystem probe jobs. A probe
job needs to be run before a storage subsystem can be monitored.
- Buttons
-
- Probe Default Storage Subsystem Group Now
- Creates a probe job using the default Storage Subsystem Group
and all other default values and then runs the job immediately.
A pop-up window will prompt you for the job name. Specify a
probe job name and click OK.
A pop-up window indicates that the job is submitted. Click OK.
A warning dialog will appear, before prompting you for the
job name, notifying you that this is not recommended because
there are several subsystems known to the system and they
are all listed in the default group. This dialog will allow
you to continue or cancel this action.
- Create Probe
- Opens the Create Probe window so you can create and run a
probe job. Links to .
-
- Alerting
- This section provides information about alerts. Alert definitions
can be created so that you will receive notification when a condition
occurs on a storage subsystem, and can take the appropriate action when
a certain condition occurs. You can also view a list of the triggering
alerts for the storage subsystems.
- Buttons
-
- Create Storage Subsystem Alert
- Opens the Create Storage Subsystem Alert window so you can
create an alert definition. Links to .
- View Storage Subsystem Alerts
- Displays the alert log for the storage subsystems. Links to
