Batch Reports
Use Batch reporting to specify and define reports that you want to run
regularly-scheduled basis. This enables you to conveniently run reports
and gather data on a set schedule.

a job when you select File > Save to save its definition.

you define on the When to Report
page. If this box is unchecked, the job will not run at any time.

To create a Batch report:
- Right-click the Batch Reporting node on the navigation tree and select Create
Batch Report. The Create Batch Report window appears, enabling you to
define and schedule a batch report.
- Go through the pages on the Create Batch Report window to define your batch
reporting criteria:
- Report: use this page to select
the report you want to generate as a batch report. Any report that is
available under the Reporting node with the resource managers as
an online report is also available for selection as a batch report.
- Selection: use this page to select
the columns from the report that you want to include in the batch report.
- Options: use this page to select
the agent where the report will run, the output file you want to generate
(for example, CSV, HTML, PDF chart, etc.), and any script that you want
to run with the report.
- When to REPORT: use this page
to determine when to run the batch report.
- Alert: use this page to determine
what alerts should be triggered if the report generation fails.
- Select File > Save to save your batch report definition.
The Save As window appears.
- Enter a name for the batch report and click Ok.
- The batch report name will be displayed under the Batch Reporting node. The batch report will run according to the
schedule you have defined in the When to REPORT page.
- You can view the batch report job run by clicking
on the actual job run listed in the node. Information about the run history
will be displayed. The log file name for the batch report shows the path
and name of the log file. Click
to view the log file
for the batch report job run.
To view a Batch report:
The batch report will be saved in the reports sub-directory within the install directory.
- If you defined the output file as a CSV or Formatted file, you can view
the report with a text editor. If you defined the output file as .xls, you
can import the data to Microsoft Excel.
- If you selected HTML chart for a report type, you must use a web browser
or other HTML viewer to display the resulting HTML chart.
