The Dashboard

When you first login to the product or close all the active windows, the content pane displays the "dashboard". The dashboard provides a concise, yet detailed overview of the health of your storage environment. It enables you to quickly point out potential problem areas that need further investigation. The dashboard contains four displayable areas and seven panels that you can cycle through to view your environment's storage information.

Click Refresh to update the displayed panels. Right click some panels and select Customize this chart from the pop-up menu to change the appearance of the chart.

Click Cycle Panels to cycle through the following panels in the dashboard:

Description

Enterprise-wide Summary

This panel provides an enterprise-wide summary of your storage and includes the following information:

  • Filesystem capacity - total amount of allocated storage space
  • Filesystem used space - total amount of used storage space
  • Filesystem Free space - total amount of available storage space
  • Disk Capacity - total amount of allocated and unallocated storage space
  • Disk Unallocated Space - amount of unused space unallocated to filesystems
  • Monitored Servers - number of monitored servers
  • Unmonitored Servers - number of unmonitored servers
  • Disks - number of disks
  • Filesystems - number of filesystems
  • Files - number of files

Monitored Server Summary

This panel displays:

  • the number of monitored machines running each OS type
  • total amount of filesystem and disk capacity per OS type

Filesystems with Least Free Space Percentage

This panel shows the monitored machines with the least percentage of free space, including the:

  • the percent of free space on each machine
  • the total filesystem capacity on each machine
  • the name of the machines and filesystems/mountpoints

Alerts Pending

This panel displays the active alerts that are still pending. These alerts are organized by:

  • All
  • Computer
  • Disk
  • Filesystem
  • Directed to user
  • Storage Subsystem
  • Switch
  • Fabric
  • Endpoint Device
  • External
  • Tape Library
