Monitoring - Pings

Run ping jobs to collect information about the availability of the storage assets in your enterprise. The results of ping jobs are stored in the repository and are used to supply the data necessary for the Availability reports.

Field Descriptions

Each ping job that you create is displayed as a subnode within the Monitoring > Pings section of the navigation tree.

To create a new Ping job:

1. Expand the Monitoring > Pings section of the navigation tree.
2. Right-click the Pings node. A pop-up menu appears.
3. Select New Ping from the pop-up menu. The content pane displays a window for defining the Ping job.
4. Define information about the ping job in the content pane.
5. Click to save the ping job definition.

To edit an existing ping job definition:

1. Expand the Monitoring > Pings section of the navigation tree.
2. Click the name of the ping job you want to edit. The content pane displays information about that job.
3. Edit the values defined for the ping job as desired.
4. Click to save the updated job definition.
