Asset Reporting - By Computer

Drill down through your storage assets in a hierarchical manner. You can use this report to drill down view details about a computer, MSCS virtual server, and IBM SAN File System cluster.

Depending on the storage asset, you can view its controllers, disks, filesystems, logical volumes, monitored directories, and exports/shares (displayed as sub nodes). You can then drill down further into these sub nodes to view more detailed information about each.

NOTE: In Asset Reporting - By Computer reports, the value "N/A" will appear as a value for fields that do not apply to the storage asset that you are viewing. For example, the following fields are not applicable to an IBM SAN File System: Domain, Network Address, IP Address, Model, Serial Number, Processor Type/Speed/Count, RAM, OS Version, CPU Architecture, Swap Space, Disk Capacity, Unallocated Disk Space, Owned Disk Capacity, Owned Unallocated Disk Space, and Last Boot Time.

Computer

The following information will be displayed when you select a computer under Asset reporting > By Computer:

Note: If the selected computer is a virtual server in an MSCS clustered environment, the following information will be displayed:

Controller

As you drill down into Asset Reporting By Computer, you can expand the assets under a controller, or you can select a controller to view the details for that controller. The name of the controller's computer is shown, as well as the driver name, instance number, bus number, address, and type of driver (for example, SCSI, IDE, etc.).

Note: If the selected computer is a virtual server, shared cluster resources will be displayed. For a clustered node, only local resources will be displayed.

Disk

As you drill down into Asset Reporting By Computer, you can expand the assets under a disk, or you can select a disk to view the details for that disk. The disk detail information is shown in a dialog that is made up of four pages: General, Disks, Latest Probe, and Probe History.

Note: If the selected computer is a virtual server, shared cluster resources will be displayed. For a clustered node, only local resources will be displayed.

Volume Group

As you drill down into Asset Reporting By Computer, you can expand the assets under a volume group, or you can select a volume group to view the details for the selected item.

The report includes the following information:

File Systems/Logical Volume information

As you drill down into Asset Reporting By Computer, you can expand the assets under File Systems/Logical Volumes, or you can select a filesystem or logical volume to view the details for the selected item. The File Systems/Logical Volumes information is shown in a dialog that is made of up two pages: Files Systems, and Logical Volume.

Note: If the selected computer is a virtual server, shared cluster resources will be displayed. For a clustered node, only local resources will be displayed.

Export/Share

As you drill down into Asset Reporting > By Computer, you can expand the assets under Export/Shares. This report includes the following information:

Note: If the selected computer is a virtual server, shared cluster resources will be displayed. For a clustered node, only local resources will be displayed.
