Capacity Reporting - Filesystem Capacity

Filesystem Capacity reports provide information for each filesystem, showing the total amount of storage capacity on that filesystem, along with the breakdown based upon used and free space and the associated file counts. You can view this information in different ways by using the following By clauses:

For example, if you select By Computer Group, the generated report will display the monitored computers in your environment and a summary of the storage statistics for their corresponding filesystems. Click [Magnifying glass button] beside a row to view more detailed information about the computers in that group. Click [Magnifying glass button] again to view more detailed information about each of the filesystems on a specific computer.

Field Descriptions

The following fields appear on the Filesystem Capacity reports:

Field Name

Description

Computer

the name of the computer on which a filesystem resides

Mount Point

the name or mount point (UNIX/Linux) of the filesystem (for example, c:\, d;\, /opt, /export/home, etc.)

Capacity

total amount (capacity) of storage space on a storage resource

Percent Used Space

percentage of total space that is used on a storage resource

Used Space

amount of used storage space on a storage resource

Free Space

total amount of available storage space available on a storage resource

File Count

Percent Used Inodes

percent of used Inodes on a storage resource

Used Inodes

number of used Inodes on a storage resource

Free Inodes

number of free Inodes on a storage resource

Volume Group

the volume group to which a logical volume belongs. If the volume is not part of a volume group this column displays "N/A".

Logical Volume Allocation

the total disk space (from the host's point of view, LUNs look like disks to hosts) used by the logical volume containing the filesystem.
