Storage-Subsystem Reporting: By Filesystem/Logical Volume

Use this report to view the relationships between the filesystem/logical volumes and the storage subsystems, LUNs, and disks in your environment. Reports can be generated for ESS subsystems, FAStT/DS4xxxx subsystems, and SAN Volume Controller clusters.

Relate Computers To
Select from the options in the Relate Filesystem/Logical Volume To pull-down menu. You can select from the following options:
  • Storage Subsystem
  • LUNs
  • Disks

Selection

The Selection button opens the Select Resources pop-up. All available resources are listed. Click in the left column to select a resource.

The Edit button opens the Edit Filter. The filters are applied to the columns you have selected for your report. Select the column you want to set the filter on. Select the operator. Enter text in the Value 1 text field. If you wish to add additional values using the same operator, do it by clicking Edit.

Edit
Displays the values you have entered and allows you to specify new values.
On top
The Add button adds column names one at a time in the order they are listed in Included Columns.
The Delete All button deletes all filters. Click the X to the left of an individual filter to delete it.
The Records Must Meet radio button is either All Conditions or At Least One Condition.
Generate Report
Click to generate the report.
Available Columns
Lists the information columns that can be included in the report. The available columns will be based on what you have selected in the Relate Computers To option.
Included Columns
Lists the information columns that are included in the report.

The following tables list the columns that can be included in the report for each option.

Storage Subsystems
Field Name Description
Computer Name of a computer using space on a storage subsystem or IBM SAN Volume Controller
Filesystem or Logical Volume Path Name or path of a filesystem/logical volume using space on a storage subsystem or IBM SAN Volume Controller
Capacity Total usable storage capacity of a LUN.
Free Space Amount of storage space available.
Storage Subsystem Name/alias of a storage subsystem hosting a filesystem/logical volume
Storage Subsystem Type Type of storage subsystem, such as ESS or FAStT/DS4xxxx.
LUNs
Field Name Description
Computer Name of a computer using a LUN
Filesystem or Logical Volume Path Name or path of a filesystem/logical volume using space on a LUN
Capacity Total usable storage capacity of a LUN.
Free Space Amount of storage space available.
Device Path (computer) Name assigned to a LUN by the operating system
Storage Subsystem Name/alias of a storage subsystem hosting a LUN or the IBM SAN Volume Controller managing the LUN
Storage Subsystem Type Type of storage subsystem, such as ESS or FAStT/DS4xxxx.
LUN Name (disk array) Name assigned to a LUN by a storage subsystem. For FAStT/DS4xxxx, it is the user-created name.
LUN WWN WWN is a 64-bit identifier that uniquely identifies a LUN in a FAStT/DS4xxxx storage subsystem.
Disks
Field Name Description
Storage Subsystem Name/alias of a storage subsystem containing the disk or the IBM SAN Volume Controller managing the disk
Storage Subsystem Type Type of storage subsystem, such as ESS or FAStT/DS4xxxx.
Manufacturer Name of the manufacturer of a disk
Model Model number of a disk
Serial Number Serial number of a disk.
Computer Name of a computer using storage on a disk
Filesystem or Logical Volume Path Name or path of a filesystem/logical volume consuming space on the disk
Capacity Total usable storage capacity of a LUN.
Free Space Amount of storage space available.
Physical Allocation Total amount of disk space consumed (overhead + capacity).
