Storage Subsystems page

Use this page to manage and configure storage subsystems.

Volumes
Click a storage subsystem in the table below; then, click Volumes to view volume information. The Volumes page is displayed.
Create Volume
Click a storage subsystem in the table below; then, click Create Volume to create a new volume using the Create Volume wizard.
Virtual Disk
Click a storage subsystem in the table below; then, click Virtual Disk to view virtual-disk information. The Virtual Disks page is displayed.
Create Virtual Disk
Click a storage subsystem in the table below; then, click Create Virtual Disk to create a new virtual disk using the Create Virtual Disk wizard.
Remove
Click a storage subsystem in the table below; then, click Remove to remove the storage subsystem from the Aperi Storage Manager database.
Launch Element Manager
Click a storage subsystem in the table below; then, click Launch Element Manager to launch the element manager.
Storage Subsystem table
This table lists all storage subsystems that are discovered by Aperi Storage Manager. To view additional details about a storage subsystem, click the row; then, click the Details icon. The Storage-Subsystem Details page is displayed.
Subsystem
A subsystem ID in the following format:
Type-Model-ID-Vendor
  • Type is the type of the storage subsystem, for example, ESS or SVC.
  • Model is the model number, for example, 2105 or 2145.
  • ID is the serial number or cluster name. Cluster names only are used for SAN Volume Controllers.
  • Vendor is the manufacturer of the storage system, for example, IBM.
Label
This either can be a user-defined name or the subsystem ID.
Type
Type of subsystem:
  • DS6000
  • DS8000
  • ESS
  • FAStT
  • Other
  • SVC
Status
Status of the subsystem:
  • Normal
  • Critical
  • Warning
  • Unreachable
Used Capacity (GB)
Total storage capacity that is formatted in volumes or virtual disks and assigned to hosts.
Unused Capacity (GB)
Total storage capacity that is not formatted in volumes or virtual disks and assigned to hosts.
