Zone Control - Zone Definition page

Use the Zone Definition page to work with the zoning configuration definition for the selected fabric. The Zone Definition page lists the zones and zone sets for the fabric in two tables. You can add, remove, and edit zones and zone sets. You can activate a different zone set, and you can commit the zoning configuration changes to the database repository.

Column Descriptions

Column Name	Description
Zone	The user-defined zone name.
Description	The user-defined description.
Zone Set	The user-defined zone set name.
Active	Whether or not the zone set is active.
Description	The user-defined description.

Button descriptions - Zone table

Note that unless otherwise specified below, these buttons are only enabled if the selected fabric is zoneable.

Add: This button opens the New Zone wizard, which allows you to create new zones and define properties for them.
Remove: This button removes the selected zone from all zone sets in the currently selected fabric.
Edit: This button opens the Edit Zone wizard, which allows you to edit the properties of the selected zone.
Duplicate: This button opens an Edit Zone wizard with the same zone membership and zone set information as the selected zone.

Note that these buttons are only active if the selected fabric is zoneable.

Remove: This button will remove the selected zone set from the currently active configuration.
Edit: This button opens the Edit Zone Set wizard, which allows you to edit the properties of the selected zone set.
Activate: This button sets the zoning configuration of the selected zone set to Active. The status of the zone set will change to Activation Pending until the changes are committed. This button is disabled if the selected zone set is the active zone set.
Deactivate: This button sets the zoning configuration of the selected zone set to Inactive. The status of the zone set will change to Deactivation Pending until the changes are committed. This button is disabled if the selected zone set is not the active zone set.
Duplicate: This button opens an Edit Zone Set wizard with the same zone membership and zone set information as the selected zone set.

Other button descriptions

Update and Activate: This button commits the changes you have made to the zoning configuration definition and updates the database. It then activates the zone set.
Update Only: This button commits the changes you have made to the zoning configuration definition and updates the database.
