Another type of creatable object are schedulable jobs. When you expand the navigation tree under a named object (for example, Probes), the actual job runs for that object are displayed.
The schedulable job objects are defined in the following table:
|
Job Type |
Function and Use |
|
Discovery job |
A discovery job allows you to define when you want to run discovery and what alerts to trigger. The discovery job will search the network for new computers that are not yet being monitored by the tool. |
|
Probe job |
Probe jobs itemize and create an inventory of your storage assets, such as computers, controllers, disk drives, filesystems, logical units, etc. |
|
Ping job |
Ping jobs track the availability of your storage assets. |
|
Aggregator Job |
Aggregator Jobs run on a periodic basis and sum up storage usage across computers to allow for enforcement of quotas that span multiple machines. |
