The user interface

The product's user interface consists of two main components: the navigation tree and content pane.

Using the navigation tree and content pane

The navigation tree appears on the left side of the main window. You can expand, select, and collapse the nodes on the tree to navigate and use all the functions of the managers.

The content pane appears on the right side of the main window. When you select a node in the navigation tree, the corresponding function window appears in the content pane. You can use the windows that appear in the content pane to define jobs, as well as select and view a series of specific reports.

Viewing windows in the content pane

When you click a node in the navigation tree, the content pane displays a window related to that node. Each time you select a new node, the window displayed for the previously selected node is moved into the background and is accessible via buttons on the toolbar ([Back button [Forward button]) or through a list in the Windows menu.

When viewing the active windows listed in the Windows menu, a > appears next to the current window (i.e., the window that currently occupies the content pane). Objects that you are currently editing (such as a ping job definition) will be marked with: a green circle if they have no pending changes or a red circle to indicate that they have pending changes that have not been saved.

Right-clicking and pop-up menus

You can right-click many fields and nodes in the interface to access pop-up menus containing additional actions. For example, if you right click on a probe job node (or any other job node), a pop-up menu with the following options appears.
