Context menus overview

Context menus are menus that display when you right click on a user interface object. For example, when you right click on a switch object in the topology viewer, you see a menu that contains a list of actions that can be performed against that switch. Selecting menu options in a context menu will execute that action against the selected object, or will open a window where you can specify further actions or information for that object.

Most of the context menus that are available for topology objects have a set of actions that are consistent across all objects. However, some actions will vary depending on the type of object selected. Actions that are specific to a particular object are located at the top of the context menu for that object, and are separated from the subset of consistent actions by a menu separator bar.

Right clicking on objects in the tabular view will also display a context menu. This context menu is identical to the one that displays when you right click the corresponding object in the topology view. For example, if you right click a switch in the topology, that context menu is identical to the context menu that displays when you right click that switch in the tabular view.

Tabular view Actions dropdown list

In the tabular view, the Actions dropdown list performs the same functions, and offers the same actions, as the context menus in the topology view.
