Use the Agents node to view and control the various agents that are running as part of your Aperi Storage Manager environment. You can manage the following agents through the Agents node:
When you expand one of the subnodes under the Agent node, the installed agents associated with that subnode are displayed. For example, if you expand the Agents > Data node, all the Data agents installed in your environment are displayed as individual nodes under the Data subnode.
You can perform a number of administrative actions against an agent. To perform actions against an agent:
A status indicator appears beside the agents listed under each of the agent nodes:

represents an active agent that is operating normally (enabled). |

represents an active agent that is running with warnings. |

represents an agent that is currently "disabled" or "down". A disabled agent represents an agent that is still running but with which the server is not communicating. To re-enable an agent, right click it and select either Check or Enable from the pop-up menu. A "down" agent is an agent that is no longer running. To start the agent, you must restart the agent service on the machine where the agent is installed. |

represents an agent that is unreachable and not responding to the server. This might occur when the agent is not running but did not inform the server that it was shutting down or when a network problem has occurred. |

indicates that the agent is being upgraded. |
|
|
represents an agent that has been re-assigned to another server. |
|
|
indicates that the status of the agent is unknown. |
