Multicore Wizard

The APP4MC Multicore Wizard allows you to easily configure and run the entire Workflow;

In the following subsection the different pages of the wizard will be explained in detail.

To launch the APP4MC Multicore Wizard you only need to right-click on the model file containing the Software Model. Then click on AMALTHEA Multicore Features > Run Wizard .

Flow Configuration

The APP4MC Multicore Wizard’s first page looks like in the following image;

In the Flow settings group you can select which steps of the Workflow you want to configure and run. Here a short description about the configuration options;

The Logging settings group offers the possibility to set the Enable Verbose Logging to console. If checked every underlying APP4MC plugin instantiated during the Workflow run will verbosely log to the Console view.

Finally, the Output settings group allows the user to select the location of the output model. Below the description for the available options;

Partitioning Configuration

The Partitioning Configuration view allows you to configure the PrePartitioning and Partitioning steps of the Workflow.

First, the PreParitioning Algorithm settings group allows you to configure what options to take into account for the PrePartitioning Workflow step.

Finally, the Partitioning Algorithm settings allows you to select the Partitioning algorithm to be used. Below a short explanation about the algorithms options;

For more information regarding PrePartitioning or Partitioning review the Partitioning help entry.

Mapping Configuration

The APP4MC Multicore Wizard’s Mapping Configuration page looks like in the following image;

In the first settings group, Select mapping algorithm the user can select what mapping algorithm can be used. There are two categories of mapping algorithm available in APP4MC;

For the first type no further configuration is needed. For the second some parameters still have to be set by the user (or use the defaults).

ILP-based mapping

If an ILP-based approach is selected the Solver Settings group is enabled as shown in the following image;

The Generate MPS file of ILP problem check box allows the user to have the MPS file also as an output of the Mapping step. The other fields allow you to fine-tune the ILP running.

Summary

The Summary view is the last view of the wizard. It displays in a tree-structured way the summary of the configured Workflow. The image below shows a configured Workflows that includes all the Workflow steps, if some step isn’t configured it won’t be shown in the summary.

Finish

The Workflow configuration in the wizard is automatically stored for you. This allows you to click the Finish button at any time, using the last known configuration. When running every Workflow configuration the Model Checker is triggered to verify that the model can in fact run the Workflow. If issues are found a pop-up message with show up, an example of the pop-up message box is shown below.

If the model checker finds any Error the Workflow won’t run. This means you need to rework you model accordingly. If only Warning issues are found the Workflow will run after clicking OK.

If your model fulfills all the requirements to successfully run the entire Workflow a pop-up like the one in the image below will show up.
