The Polychrony toolset, the Signal language and the SSME environment have been designed at IRISA as a technology demonstrator for the research activities of the ESPRESSO project (2000-2012) and its academic or industrial partners. It is distributed and maintained by INRIA project-team TEA on the platform of the Polarsys Industry Working Group, project POP (Polychrony on Polarsys).

The Polychrony toolset distribution, contains:- The Signal Toolbox, a batch compiler for the Signal language. An associated GUI is also provided. These downloads are provided under the terms and conditions of the GPL V2 Licence
- the following components that run under Eclipse (tested on Luna version):
- The SSME environment, a front-end to the Signal Toolbox in the Eclipse environment. It requires the Signal Toolbox for compiling SSME models.
- The Signal GUI adapted for Eclipse.
It will be integrated to the Polarsys distribution soon. - An AADL to Signal translator, under the Eclipse environment.
