COSMOS Installation Guide

Installing the COSMOS SDK

The COSMOS SDK is provided for the users who want to create their own data managers.

To install the COSMOS SDK:

  1. Download the SDK from COSMOS Downloads.
  2. Install the packages cited in "COSMOS Prerequisites," with the exception of Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT 2.3).

After downloading these packages, do the following:

  1. Unzip the COSMOS SDK, Eclipse SDK,WTP, EMF, XSD and GEF to same directory.
  2. Install the web server.
  3. Unzip the Axis2 binary distribution to a different directory.
  4. To configure the COSMOS SDK, specify the Axis2 location in Eclipse preferences. To specify the Axis2 location, go to Window -> Preferences -> Web Services -> Axis2 Preferences. Specify Axis2 runtime location in Axis2 Runtime tab.

Update Site Installation

As an alternative to manually unzipping the COSMOS SDK, an Eclipse update site for the installation of COSMOS plug-ins and features is available at COSMOS 1.0.0 update site installation.

For details on how to use the COSMOS SDK, see the "Creating a Data Manager" chapter of the COSMOS Developer's Guide.
