Exporting To Microsoft Project

Non-suppressed activities and tasks may be exported as Microsoft Project® tasks. Children of elements will be exported as summary tasks.

Dependencies in the work breakdown structure are carried over to Microsoft Project®. If there are circular dependencies in work breakdown structure, Microsoft Project will issue a warning but will accept the circular dependencies.

Roles are exported as Microsoft Project® resources. They are connected to tasks or summary tasks as follows:

Work products are not exported.

Microsoft Project® sets the start and end dates for the project automatically. You will need to adjust them after the export has completed by using Microsoft Project®.

How to Export

  1. Use the File menu in the main toolbar and select Export... The Export dialog box will appear.
  2.

  3. Expand the Method tree node, select Microsoft Project Template, and click Next.

  4. Select either Capability Pattern or Delivery Process.
  5.

  6. Optional: If you want to publish the site at the same time you are exporting, check the box labeled Publish the configuration files.

  8. Optional: If there are breakdown elements that have the Planned attribute set to "False", you may not want to include them in the exported file. In this case you should check the box labeled Only export breakdown elements with the Planned attribute set to true.
