Working With Processes: Browse Process Content

The goal of this exercise is to gain a basic understanding of Processes. This is similar to the Browse Process Content exercise in the Explore the User Interface tutorial.

1. Switch to the Browsing perspective.

 

2. Select My Basic Configuration from the configuration menu in the main tool bar. If you don't have this configuration, go back and complete the Add a Plug-in exercise in the Create Method Content tutorial.

 

3. In the Configuration view panel, expand the Processes folder, then expand the Capability Patterns folder, then expand the Basic Building Blocks folder. Double-click on the icon for Develop Solution.

 

4. A Capability Pattern contains a large amount of information displayed over four tabs:

    

   • Description
   • Work Breakdown Structure
   • Work Product Usage
   • Team Allocation

    

   Explore the information on each tab.

 

5. To view a Delivery Process, click Processes, then Delivery Processes, then OpenUP/Basic Lifecycle. The display for a Delivery Process is similar to a Capability Pattern.
