Create Method Content: Manage Guidance

Guidance can be attached to any core method content or process element. Guidance elements can even be attached to other guidance elements.

The goal of this exercise is to carry out some simple management tasks, specifically adding and removing guidance.

1. Locate the my_navmap artifact that you created in exercise 2 in this tutorial.

 



 

2. Double-click on the icon for my_navmap. The artifact editor panel will appear.

 

3. Click on the Guidance tab.

 

4. Click on the Add... button. The Select Dialog: Guidance window will appear.

 

5. Add the Concept using_visualizations from the openup_basic plug-in.

   The list of items in the Select Dialog is restricted to just those items that are allowed to be added. The list can be rather long. You can enter a search string such as "u" in the Name patterns box to filter the items that are displayed. Note that you can use the Collapse All and Expand All buttons on this dialog to change the way the tree is displayed.

 



 

 

6. Add my_create_physical_appearance_checklist Checklist.

 

7. Click the Preview tab to view your work.

 

8. Remove the Concept using_visualizations.

 

9. Click the Preview tab to view your work.
