This page describes the process for defining an estimating
model and then applying it to a process.
Use the File menu in the main tool bar
to select New and then Estimating Model.
The New Estimating Model wizard will appear. Enter
a Name: for the new estimating model and a Brief description:.
Enter the default estimating
factors that will be used in the estimating model.
Name: The label used to identify this factor.
Count: the number of occurrences of the estimating factor to be
used in an estimate
Low estimate: a low estimate for the number of hours effort for
one occurrence of the estimating factor
High estimate: a high estimate for the number of hours effort
for one occurrence of the estimating factor
Most likely estimate: the most likely number of hours effort for
one occurrence of the estimating factor
These default values can be over-ridden everywhere the estimating
factor is applied. They provide a starting value or can be used unchanged
if appropriate.
