Importing A Library Configuration With ClearCase

Only one person at a time should import a library into an existing library controlled by ClearCase. When the import is finished, the same person should find all check-outs, and check-in all the new files.
  1. All users should check-in all other changes prior to the import. The only person accessing the library should be the person who will do the import.
  2. Use the perspectives menu to switch to the Resource perspective. Search for all checked-out files and check them in.
  3. Use the File menu to select Import... then Library Configuration.
  4. Click Next. You will be prompted to checkout the library.xmi file. Click Apply.
  5. If you see a prompt to save and close all editors, click Next.
  6. Enter the location of the import directory in the Import Library Configuration Dialog and select Next.
  7. When you are prompted to checkout the plugins affected by the import, click Apply.
  8. Click Finish on the Import Library Configuration Dialog
  9. Click OK to back up the library.
  10. You will be prompted to checkout all elements affected by the import.
  11. Select Apply.
  12. Switch to the Resource perspective (or Resource Navigator) and check-in all files that are checked out.
