Moving Method Elements With ClearCase

  1. Before moving a method element, make sure that it and any files that depend on it are checked-in.
  2. Make sure the authoring perspective is being used. Method elements can only be deleted from within this perspective.
  3. Right-click on the target element to secondary menu and select Move. You will be prompted to checkout resources for current plug-in. Click Apply.
  4. Select the destination in the Move dialog and press OK.
  5. If moving to a different plug-in get prompt to checkout resources of the destination plug-in. Click Apply.
  6. You will be prompted to checkout the method element. Click Apply.
  7. Switch to the Resource perspective and check-in all changed files.
