Navigating through log records

The Log and Trace Analyzer provides different means of navigation in Log Interactions view and Log Thread Interactions view.

Paging through log records

There are several means available for paging through log records.

Going to target of a correlation

For a correlation target that is on another page, you can quickly jump to the target by following these steps:

  1. Select the correlation (arrow pointing to a dot).

  2. Right click. The popup menu opens.. Select Go to target. If there is only a one-to-one correlation, the view window refreshes and shows the target record. If there is more than one target, the Select event dialog box opens.

  3. Select an event from the list. Click OK. The view window refreshes and shows the target event.

Going to source of a correlation

For a correlation source that is on another page, you can quickly jump to the source by following these steps:

  1. Select the correlation (arrow pointing away from a dot).

    the source is a dot indicating that the source is on another page

  2. Right click. The popup menu opens.. Select Go to source. If there is only a one-to-one correlation, the view window refreshes and shows the source record. If there is more than one source, the Select event dialog box opens.

  3. Select an event from the list. Click OK. The view window refreshes and shows the source record.

The page size in the views can be adjusted in the preferences. Please see the section on Customzing page size.
