Developing an end-to-end transform solution

The following steps give you an overview of how to use the Generic Log Adapter to process a log file and transform its contents into Common Base Events.

1. Identify log file to be used as template
2. Create adapter using template log file
3. Edit the configuration file components:
   1. Sensor
   2. Extractor
   3. Parser
4. Test the extractor and parser using the configuration file test views.
5. Specify how you want the adapter to output its results to within the formatter.

You now have a configuration file that can be used directly by the Hyades Generic Log Adapter runtime.
