Searching log records

The Search Log Record dialog box allows you to search for log records in the Log view.

To search for log records, click the Search toolbar button in the Log view. The Search Log Record dialog box opens.
Specify the log records that you want to search for in the Search table. To create a new filter or edit an existing filter, click Add or Edit. The Add Filter Property dialog box opens.
In the Attribute field, select the attribute that you are searching for.
In the Operator field, select the boolean operator for the search.
In the Value field, type the value that you are searching for. You can use * to match any set of characters, including an empty string.
Click OK. The search parameters appear in the Search filter table.
Click Remove to remove a search filter.
To control the order of the search filters, use the Up and Down buttons.
Select Backward to search backward (bottom to top) starting from the currently selected log record in the Log view.
Select Forward to search forward (top to bottom) starting from the currently selected log record in Log view.
Click Find Next to start a search starting from the currently selected log record in the Log view based on direction selected. If no record is selected in log view, search will start from the first record in the Log view.

If the entered search pattern is found, the log view selection moves to either the next or previous occurrence of the search log record, according to your chosen search direction, and locates the found log record according to your selections in the Log view. The Log Detail pane will then refresh with the latest selection made by the log search. Repeat this step to find multiple occurrences of the pattern-matching log record in your log files.
