Filtering records in log interaction views

Filtering in the Log and Trace Analyzer is based on the Common Base Event properties. You can create filters to examine specific data from the application log files. In the log interactions views, you can create filters based on values that you specify for the Common Base Event properties.

To filter log records from being displayed in Log Interactions and Log Thread Interactions views, follow these steps:
  1. From the toolbar drop-down menu, select Filter Log record
  2. The Filter Log Record dialog box opens.

  3. To add a filter, click Add. The Add Filter Property dialog box opens.
  4. Select options in the Attribute and Operator lists. Type a value for the attribute.
  5. Click OK. The new filter property is shown in the Filter Log Record dialog box.
  6. To edit the filter property, select a filter from the list and click Edit. The Edit Filter Property dialog box opens.
  7. Modify the attribute, operator and value as desired. Click OK. The modified filter property is shown in the Filter Log Record dialog box.
  8. In Add Filter Property, click OK. The view is refreshed with the filter property applied.
  9. To delete, open up the Add Filter Property dialog box. Select the filter property to be deleted and select Delete. The selected property is removed from the Add Filter Property.

Hint: By default, Log Interaction and Log Thread Interaction views show only log records with correlations. For log files that do not contain any correlations, the interaction views will be empty. To show all records in these views, the filter can be turned off from Filter Log record dialog box by clearing the Show Correlated log record only check box.
