Managing key pairs
In MTJ, managing key pairs includes:
- creation of new key pairs
- deleting existing key pairs
Key pairs are stored in the key store, which is password-protected.
To create a new key pair
To create new key pairs without creating
a new key store, you need to have the Security Manager plug-ins configured
for MTJ, and the key store open.
- In the file menu, select MTJ
-> Application Security .
The Security Management for MTJ Applications window opens.

Select the Key Management
tab.
Note: You
have to open a key store before you can create a new key pair for it.
If the key store you want is not active in the Location
field, open the right key store as instructed in Managing
keystores.
- Select Create
a New Key Pair.
The New Key Pair window opens.
- In the New Key
Pair window, enter the desired key pair alias, common name, organizational
name. locality name, state name and country and click Create.
A confirmation window appears.
- Click OK.
The new key pair is created and added to the active key store.
To delete an existing key pair
- In the file menu,
select MTJ -> Application Security
.
The Security Management for MTJ Applications window opens.

Select the Key
Management tab.
Note:
You have to open a key store before
you can delete a key pair from it. If the key store you want is not active
in the Location field, open
the right key store as instructed in Managing
keystores.
- High-light
the key pair you want to delete.
- Select Delete a Key Pair.
A confirmation window appears.
- Click OK.
The key pair is deleted and disappears from the key aliases field.
