Providers
MTJ is designed to be a tool that can be used with various mobile platforms.
To ensure this, the following providers can be configured with MTJ:
- General MTJ tooling providers for security management
and signing of MTJ projects include the following 3rd party packages.
MTJ provides Security plug-ins that make use of the security tools
provided by these packages.
For example, Sun’s JREs include a tool called \bin\keytool.exe,
which is used by the org.eclipse.mtj.extension.smgmt.sun plug-in
to create and manage keystores. If you want to make use of the
MTJ security feature, you have to have one of the following packages installed.
- IBM JRE 5.0
- IBM J9
- SUN JRE
- Mobile device platforms and mobile runtimes:
- All mobile SDKs that support UEI (Unified Emulator Interface)
- Deployment provider
- Nokia PC Suite
You can configure the providers in MTJ preferences.
Note: The providers are not
provided with MTJ. You are responsible for acquiring them.
Consult the applications targeted platform provider for the necessary
mobile SDKs. For the security and signing tools, consult IBM or SUN.
