Deploying applications to mobile devices
To deploy the application to a mobile device, first test it in MTJ's
emulator for the particular project. Then sign the application. Most mobile
devices return an error message if you try to deploy unsigned applications
to them. Also, make sure that you have edited the JAD file and the manifest
file to contain the correct information about the JAR file.
To deploy an application
Confirm that the mobile device is connected
to your computer before deployment.
Note:
At the moment, MTJ supports Nokia PC Suite 6.8 as the deployment tool.
You do not have to configure it for MTJ, but you need to have it installed
on your computer.
In the menu bar, select MTJ
-> Deploy.
The Deploy resource window opens.

Tip: You can also use the toolbar's shortcut (the mobile device
button) to open the Deploy resource window.
- To select the resource to deploy, in the Resource
field, select Browse and browse
to the resource to be deployed in the Select
a resource to be deployed window. Click Open.
- In the Devices
field, select the deployment tool.
The description of the selected tool is shown in the Description
field:
- In the Devices
filter field, do one of the following:
- If you want to deploy the application to all
devices, select All devices.
- if you want to deploy the application only to
compatible devices, select Compatible
devices.
- In the Status
filter field, do one of the following:
- If you want to deploy the application to all
devices, select All devices.
- If you want to deploy the application only to
connected devices, select Only connected
devices.
- If you want to change the project that contains the
resource for application, in the Project
field click Change and select
the project you want.
Note:
You can only select projects that are located in your workspace.
