Getting started with the help
Welcome to Mobile Tools for the Java Platform help! Mobile Tools for the
Java Platform (MTJ) is an Eclipse Project, designed for the creation of
Java applications for mobile devices. MTJ enables you to develop, debug
and deploy mobile Java applications to emulators and real devices. With
MTJ, you can create Java ME applications for different manufacturers'
devices, using multiple profiles. MTJ has a built-in providers
and a code compiler, allowing you to focus on code creation.
The help is divided into 2 sections:
- User Guide
This section is intended for the creators of Java ME applications.
The subjects covered include tutorials on project management
and tasks on managing mobile SDKs and applications. With the help of this
guide, users get to know how to use MTJ as a tool.
- Developer Guide
This section is intended for the vendors, who want to create vendor-specific
Java ME applications and the tools for creating them. This guide provides
information on how to extend the MTJ frameworks, creating vendor-specific
MTJ tools.
Both guides contain the following sections:
- Concepts
This section provides information on the main concepts connected to
MTJ.
- Tasks
This section provides instructions and step list for MTJ-related tasks.
- Reference
This section provides information on general Eclipse and MTJ-specific
topics, such as the different wizards and dialogs.
