Deploying applications to mobile devices

To deploy the application to a mobile device, first test it in MTJ's emulator for the particular project. Make sure that you have edited the JAD file and the manifest file to contain the correct information about the JAR file.

To deploy an application

Confirm that the mobile device is connected to your computer before deployment.

Note: You need to have the Deployment Provider installed to MTJ. At the moment, MTJ supports Nokia PC Suite 6.8 as the deployment tool. You do not have to configure it for MTJ, but you need to have it installed on your computer. Also, you need to have the separate Java wrapper for the deployment tool installed in your MTJ installation.

  1. In the menu bar, select MTJ -> Deploy, or in the tool bar, select .
    The Deploy resource window opens.




    Tip
    : You can also use the toolbar's shortcut (the mobile device button) to open the Deploy resource window.

  2. To select the project to deploy, in the Project field, select Browse and browse to the desired project.
  3. To select the resource to deploy, in the Resource field, select Browse and browse to the desired resource.
  4. Click Deploy.
