Installing MTJ
Note: If you plan to deploy
applications to Nokia mobile devices, MTJ 0.7 version requires that you
download and install a deployment provider plug-in. This plug-in is not
included in the standard delivery. Also, you need to download and install
a separate deployment tool and a separate Java wrapper. Directions on
how to acquire the deployment provider and the external tools can be found
at http://download.eclipse.org/dsdp/mtj/downloads/drops/S-0.7RC1-200610250923/index.html.
To install MTJ
Before
installing, confirm that you have all the prerequisites
installed on your computer.
- In your Eclipse installation folder, create a new
folder named Links.
- Extract the contents of the MTJ delivery archive
file to a folder with the following path: c:/MTJ_Release/version_0_7.
Note: If you plan to deploy applications to Nokia mobile devices,
extract the deployment provider and the Java wrapper into this folder,
too.
- In the Links
folder, create a file named org.eclipse.mtj.lnk
and point it to a folder where you have extracted the contents
of the MTJ delivery archive file.
The org.eclipse.mtj.lnk
file should consist of the following:
path:c:/MTJ_Release/version_0_7.
- In your Eclipse installation folder, double-click
the executable file.
All the MTJ plug-ins are loaded as they would be if they were installed
directly under the Eclipse folder.
- In the future, if a new version of MTJ is released,
you can replace the contents of the MTJ installation folder, without having
to re-configure your Eclipse installation.
