Testing of the device kit is done by low-level interface testing of the transport layer first and then of the device layer, followed by high-level scenario-based testing of profile adapters and and subsystems using the validation testing.
The transport testcase and the device testcase run as many testcases that can be run without the hardware device.
The transport test and device test need the hardware device to be successful. The default configuration of the transport test and device test attempt to test as much as possible without changing the configuration of the hardware device.
Validation testing is done by running a test script that creates and configures transports, devices, profiles, profile adapters and application components, and tests and then runs the configured tests. Validation tests are implemented using the validation test framework that is part of the device kit.
