Service Activator Toolkit

This book serves as both the user guide and the reference manual to the Service Activator Toolkit (SAT). This book is comprised of the following sections:

Getting Started: This book describes how to get started with using SAT. The goal of SAT is to enable the development of service oriented OSGi bundles by making the registration of exported services and the acquisition of imported services easy.
SAT Runtime: The SAT runtime is packaged as a single OSGi bundle that exports packages and services that other bundles import to assist with the development of service oriented OSGi bundle activators and related behavior. The SAT runtime also includes optional bundles that are useful for debugging and monitoring a running OSGi framework. The SAT runtime is built using Equinox for any OSGi R4 compliant framework implementation.
SAT Tooling: The SAT tooling is packages as Eclipse plug-ins that extend the Eclipse IDE by contributing support for developing service oriented bundle activators and for monitoring a running OSGi framework that includes the SAT runtime. The SAT tooling also contributes documentation on how to use the SAT runtime and tooling. The SAT tooling is built using Eclipse 3.3.
SAT Tutorials: The goal of these tutorials is to teach the use of SAT through the development of some simple service-oriented bundles. The tutorials are simple and focuses on understanding how best to use SAT to build service-oriented bundles rather than teaching OSGi.
