SAT Runtime Software Architecture

The SAT runtime software architecture is built on top of the OSGi runtime software architecture. Since the SAT runtime is packaged as a bundle, it runs on the OSGi framework just like any other bundle.

An SAT bundle is an OSGi bundle. The opposite is not true.
An SAT bundle is dependent upon the SAT bundle org.eclipse.soda.sat.core.
The SAT bundle org.eclipse.soda.sat.core contains all the SAT core classes, including the abstract bundle activator BaseBundleActivator. Most bundles build with SAT possess an activator that is a direct or indirect subclass of BaseBundleActivator. Subclassing is not the only option, but it is certainly the easiest.
An SAT bundle can import services exported by other bundles, whether they are SAT bundles or not.
A service exported by an SAT bundle is no different from any other exported service and can be acquired from the OSGi framework by any bundle that wishes to import the service.
