The Stardust Portal

The Stardust Portal provides a Web-based portal for administration, performing business management tasks and executing interactive process activities. It provides the three perspectives, for business management, administration and workflow, which can be selected in the Perspectives menu item in the main menu.

For an overview of entries in the web.xml file of your Web project, required to run the Stardust Portal or provided to customize the portal, refer to chapter Web Application Deployment Descriptor in the Rapid Application Development guide. Web Application Deployment Descriptor in the Rapid Application Development guide. The required entries are provided by default in the Rapid Application Development environment.

Modifying and Extending the Portal Content

You can use the Portal Framework provided with the Stardust Portal to modify and extend the content of the portal and add your own application components. Please refer to the chapter Using the Portal Framework of the Programming Guide Using the Portal Framework of the Programming Guide for detailed information.

You have the option to internationalize the following text elements in the Stardust Portal:

Stardust Portal Error Messages

Stardust Portal error messages are displayed along with error code, which can be useful for developers. You find a list of provided error code and the according messages in chapter List of Error Codes of the Stardust Documentation - Developer Guide. List of Error Codes of the Developer Handbooks.

Portal Footer

The footer in the Portal provides you with information on copyright, company name and product version number. In case you like to customize the displayed footer, you can use a custom skin. Refer to section Portal Footer of chapter Creating and Using Custom Skins for according options and how to specify these.
