You can view details about a case process and invoke actions on it in the Case Details view. This view displays case properties, descriptors, history, documents and processes linked to a case.
You can open the Case Details view from the Business Process Manager in the Business Process Manager Perspective. It also gets opened automatically when creating a case process in an activity execution view in the Workflow Execution Perspective.

For more information on case owner, please refer to the section Owner of a Case of chapter Case - Grouping Processes in the Stardust Concepts Owner of a Case of the Case - Grouping Processes chapter in the Concepts handbook. Using the Delegate Case Ownership option, you can modify the case owner.
Note that there are no restrictions to whom the case owner can delegate the case. The case owner can delegate the case to any participant regardless of current performer defined in any active model. Such as, delegation to any Stardust Portal user, role (can be implicitly scoped role), organization (can be scoped organization), and department. The Pick from List and Pick from Tree options include all participants regardless of current performer and all the departments in the hierarchy. Departments (both implicitly and explicitly scoped) are ordered alphabetically by the prepended parent organization name.

The case owner can attach root process instances to the case using the Attach Process Instance to Case option. However, following rules are applied when you try to attach a process instance to a case:
To attach a process instance to a case:

The related process search is performed for all the active root process instances and the search result is displayed.

Refer to the chapter Related Process or Case Search for detail information.
The attached process instance gets displayed in the Case History panel.

The attached root process instance becomes a child process of the case or a case subprocess.
Click the Correspondence icon.

For more information, please refer to chapter Chat View.
Click the Update icon to update the Case Details view page.
The Descriptors panel displays the name and value of all key descriptors and descriptors from the subprocesses which have the same values. The list of descriptors is automatically updated whenever process instances are attached or detached and when cases are joined. Click the Update icon to recalculate the descriptors manually. For more information on descriptors and key descriptors, please refer to the chapter Working with Data Paths in the Stardust Documentation - Developer Handbook. The Linked Cases panel displays linked case instance details. The case instance links are created when any case process instance is aborted and joined to another case process instance. It also displays Link Type, Link Create Time, Link Create User and Link Comment along with Actions column. To view the linked case details, click the linked case process name from the Process Name column or click the Process Details icon in the Actions column.

The following sections provide details about actions and toolbar options for linked processes.
The actions for linked processes are same as for Case History. But note that the Abort Process icon is disabled in the following scenarios:
You can abort a case process using the Abort Process option. But note that you cannot abort case process using this option.

You cannot abort and start a case.

If you try to abort and start a case, the following message is displayed.

In case you want to abort an existing case process instance and join another case process, click the down-arrow icon displayed next to the Abort Process icon and select Abort Process and Join option from the toolbar. Refer to the Abort Process and Join section for more information.

Click the Recover Process icon to recover the case process.

Using the Case Menu option, you can create a case and attach to case. For more information, please refer to chapter Grouping Root Process Instances under a new Case Process.

This icon enables when you modify the process priority. To save the modified process priority, click the Save Priority Changes icon.

For more information, please refer to chapter Modifying Process Priorities.
The Case History panel displays the hierarchical tree view of processes that are added in a case.
The case process is indicated with the

The following columns are not displayed by default, but can be selected additionally:
For details on general process table functionality refer to chapter Working with Process Tables.
By default, the current case process instance row is selected and the process table displays details about the subprocesses related to the case. To view details about other subprocesses, select the radio button of the according subprocess row in the Select column.

The following toolbar options are provided in the Case History Process table:
The case owner can detach root process instances from a case using the Detach Process Instance from a Case option.
To detach a process instance from a case:
icon. The process instance gets detached from the case.If the process instance to be detached is the last active process instance but at least one case member still exists, the state of the case process instance changes to complete. Following warning message is displayed.
Figure: Detach Process Instance - Warning
If no other case member exists, the state of the case process instance changes to aborted. Thus, an empty case is always in aborted state. Following warning message is displayed.

Also, note that when detach process instance from a case is performed on non-case members, (spawned process from the case process instance) the error message is displayed.
You can suppress the display of process definitions that are not business relevant in the portal. These processes are marked as "Is Auxiliary Process" in the modeler. Please refer to chapter Working with Process Definitions of the Stardust Online Documentation - Modeling Guide Working with Process Definitions of the Modeling Guide for details.
By default, these auxiliary processes are displayed in the Process History. To show or hide them from the view, click the Show / Hide Auxiliary Processes icon in the toolbar.
