Grouping Root Process Instances under a new Case Process

The Stardust provides functionality to group related processes and create a case. A Case Menu is available from the activity execution view and all process tables. The menu contains two options:

For more information, please refer to the chapter Case - Grouping Processes in the Stardust Documentation - Concepts Guide. Case - Grouping Processes in the Concepts Guide.

Creating a Case

The Create Case dialog allows you to group one or more active root process instances under a new case process. A case remains active until all its grouped process instances are completed.

The creation of a case requires at least one process instance to be attached to the case. Following rules are applied for the process instance to be attached to a case:

The user who wants to create a case should have grant for the permission Create Case. For more information on authorization, please refer to chapter Managing Authorization.

  1. To create a case of active process instances, click the down-arrow icon displayed next to the Case Menu icon and choose Create Case option from the toolbar.
