Linked Processes

The Linked Processes panel displays linked process instance details. The process instance links are created when any process instance is aborted and started or aborted and joined from existing process instance. It also displays Link Type, Link Create Time, Link Create User and Link Comment along with Actions column. To view the linked process details click the linked process name from Process column or click Process Details icon in the Actions column.

Link Types

The created process instance links have different link types. The links are established between root processes, even when the source and target process instances are not root process instances. When the process instance is aborted and started:

• Link type for source process instance is: Switched To
• Link type for target process instance is: Switched From

When the process instance is aborted and joined:

• Link type for source process instance is: Joined To
• Link type for target process instance is: Joined From

When the operation migrated the process instance to a different version of the same process definition:

• Link type for source process instance is: Migrated To
• Link type for target process instance is: Migrated From

Actions

The actions for linked processes are same as for Process History. But note that the Abort Process icon is disabled in the following scenarios:

• If the user does not have Abort permission
• If the process is in Aborted state

Aborting a Process

You can abort a process using the Abort Process option. But note that if you do not have abort rights then the notification get displayed in the Abort Process dialog.

Abort Process and Start

In case you want to abort an existing process instance and start another process, click the down-arrow icon displayed next to the Abort Process icon and select Abort Process and Start option from the toolbar. Abort Process and Join

In case you want to abort an existing process instance and join another process, click the down-arrow icon displayed next to the Abort Process icon and select Abort Process and Join option from the toolbar. Please refer to the chapter Aborting and Joining Processes for detail information.

Recovering Process

Click the Recover Process icon to recover the process.

Case Menu

Using the Case Menu option, you can create a case and attach to case. For more information, please refer to the chapter The Case Menu.
