User Defined Columns in Runtime Views

Predefined column types are provided for runtime views to be added as user defined column tables. If column types are provided, they could be one or more of the following:

• Process Data
• Activity Metrics
• Foreign Data
• Model Property
• Optional data columns

Process Data

To join process data to the runtime view:

1. Select Process Data in the User Defined Columns section.
2. Click Add.

A new menu item Process DataXX will become available in the Column Type section. Select this item and click Edit.

The Additional Process Data Column dialog opens, where you can change the column name and specify the process data to be joined:

Click OK to save the changes in the dialog. In addition to the new output column, a new parameter will be created. This parameter can be used to specify an expression the result set will be filtered by.

Adding Structured Data

When selecting a data of type structured data, you can choose elements of the structured data in the Additional Process Data Column dialog:

Activity Metrics

For each activity metric defined an output column displaying the time difference between two activities is added to the runtime view. To create an activity metric:

1. Select Activity Metrics in the User Defined Columns section.
2. Click Add.

Select the newly created tree item ActivityMetricsXX and click Edit.

In the Additional Column with Activity Metrics dialog, specify the following settings:

• Column Name: Enter a name for the column to be joined
• Start Activity: Select the start activity of the activity metric
• Start/Completion: If checked the start activity's start time will be taken as the activity metric's start time, otherwise the activity's end time will be taken as the activity metric's start time.
• End Activity: Select the end activity of the activity metric
• Start/Completion:If checked the end activity's start time will be taken as the activity metric's end time, otherwise the activity's end time will be taken as the activity metric's end time.

Click OK to save the changes. In addition to the new output column, a new parameter will be created. This parameter can be used to specify an expression the result set will be filtered by.

Foreign Data

A foreign data table column is not part of your Stardust Process model but part of a non-Stardust data table. Such columns can be joined to a runtime view, if the table is retrievable from the same data source (same database connection and user account) as the view itself. A foreign data table column will be joined on a process data column, which has to be defined in advance (ProcessData13 in the screenshot). To join a foreign data table column:

1. Select Foreign Data in the User Defined Columns section.
2. Click Add.

Select the newly created tree item ForeignDataXX and click Edit.

In the Additional Foreign Data Column dialog, specify the following settings:

• Foreign Data Name: Enter a name for the column to be joined
• Foreign Table: The drop down box contains a list of all data table columns accessible by the connecting user. Select a foreign data table column to be joined (displayed in the view).
• Foreign Join Table Column: Select a column from the same foreign data table on which the foreign data table column should be joined.
• View Join Column: This drop down box contains all defined process data columns. Select one column on which the foreign data table column should be joined.
• Use Outer Joins: If this option is checked, only the rows of the existing view having a corresponding entry in the foreign join table column will become part of the result set. Otherwise the result set will contain all rows of the existing view supplemented by the foreign table's matching rows' data.

Click OK to save the changes. In addition to the new output column, a new parameter will be created. This parameter can be used to specify an expression the result set will be filtered by.

Model Property

To join additional data to your runtime view:

1. Select Model Property in the User Defined Columns section.
2. Click Add.

Select the newly created tree item ModelPropertyXX and click Edit.

A dialog opens where you can enter the following attributes for the additional data column:

• Column Name: name of the new data column.
• Property Path: attribute name defined as property.

In case the attribute name entered as property path is not correct, the entries in the result set remain empty.

Optional data columns

To add optional data columns to the runtime view:

1. Select Optional data columns in the User Defined Columns section.
2. Click Add.

A dialog opens, where you can choose a process id. Momentarily only the StartingProcessID, returning the process ID of the starting process, is provided.
