The Stardust provides functionality to group related processes and create a case. A Case Menu is available from the activity execution view and the Actions column in all process tables. For details on the Actions column in process tables, refer to chapter Working with Process Tables.
The Case menu contains two options:

The Create Case dialog allows you to group one or more active root process instances under a new case process. A case remains active until all its grouped process instances are completed.
The creation of a case requires at least one process instance to be attached to the case. Following rules are applied for the process instance to be attached to a case:
The user who wants to create a case should have grant for the permission Create Case. For more information on authorization, please refer to chapter Managing Authorization.

If one or more selected process instances are not root process instances, the validation message is displayed.
You can attach a root process instance and case process instance using the Attach To Case option.
When the in-scope process instance is a root process instance, you can attach it to the case. To attach a root process instance:

By default, the search is performed for active cases matching all key descriptors.
