Documents can be viewed and edited in the documents view, which is titled with the document's name.

To go back to the source where you opened the document from, click the first item in the heading, e.g.:

This chapter describes how to edit and view documents in the Stardust Portal in general. Refer to the specific chapters for viewing specific document mime types, which are listed in section Content.
The document's Details (e.g., meta-data), and byte Content are displayed in separate sections in the view.
Click Details to expand the section and view the description and the document meta-data if existing.
The following document properties are displayed in the Properties section:
You may modify the description if the document security permits.

The Document Data section displays the Document Type chosen at the time of Document Upload operation. These document types are defined in modeler as structured types. Based on the document type, the associated data structure of the document type is displayed. You can specify the details of data structure of the document type. By default, the Document Data section is expanded.

The document's byte content is displayed in the viewer configured for the file MIME type. Options for viewing the content vary by the viewer used to display the file type.

In case the Document Viewer is opened for an unsupported document type, a browser download dialog opens to download the file with a supported program. A message is displayed in the content area to download the file to view its content.

Note that in case the document viewer opens automatically after an upload, e.g. if the Open Document checkbox is selected, the download dialog does not open automatically.
The following toolbar options are available in the Document viewer:

To save a document, click the Save icon
in the upper-right corner of the view.
A confirmation dialog opens to confirm the save process and to optionally add version comments.

To open the text field to enter a comment click the expand icon.

In case neither the document nor the document meta-data have been changed, a confirmation dialog opens to ask whether you like to save a new version of the document anyway:

Use the controls in the toolbar in the upper right corner to change the displayed document version in the view or to revert to a previous version.
Select the Show Previous Version icon
to switch
to the next older version of the document in the view. The icon is disabled if a
document version is not loaded or if the current version is the oldest
version.
Select the Show Next Version icon
to switch
to the next newer version of the document in the view. The icon is disabled if a
document version is not loaded or if the current version is the newest
version.
Select the Revert To Version icon
to
save the selected version as the newest version. The option is enabled
when the document version displayed in the active tab is not the most recent version of the
document. A confirmation dialog opens to confirm to make the opened document version the
current version.

Note that in case the document types do not match when reverting the document version of a specific document, the document type of the new version is changed to the document type of the target document and its meta-data will be empty. The following note is added to the confirmation dialog:

In case the document type of the current version of the specific document is empty, a new version of the document is created with the document type of the target document.
Select the Upload New Version icon
to upload a new version of the document. For details on the

of chapter Document Operations.

To download your document, click the
icon in the upper-right corner
of the Stardust Portal toolbar.

The download URL is provided directly for the node names. According to the browser you are using, a download dialog opens to ask where to open the file. For example, you can open it in the browser or in an appropriate editor.
