The Report viewer opens when a report or report instance is clicked from a location where stored reports are listed in folders, e.g. from:
Viewing reports in this viewer is similar as viewing reports in the Preview tab of the Business Process Reporting perspective with the difference that report definitions cannot be saved.
The report definitions view represents the saved report definition with its parameters if present.

If a report definition has parameters, the report parameter fields display the parameters that were used to run the report. Initially, the report is re-run with its default parameters, but they can be changed and the report re-run by clicking the Submit button.

Toolbar options are provided for the following tasks:
To add the currently open report to the Favorite Reports
tree, click the Add to Favorite Reports icon in the
main toolbar:

Now the report is displayed in the My Favorite Reports tree in the Business Control Center perspective launch panel section:

To remove the currently open report from the Favorite Reports
tree, click the Remove from Favorite Reports icon in the
main toolbar:

To save a new instance of a report opened in the viewer, select the Save Instance icon in the toolbar.

The Save Report Instance dialog opens, where you specify the report name and storage location. Please refer to section Saving Report Instances of chapter Managing Report Definitions for details on saving report instances.

Now the report is added to the Ad Hoc Reports folder in the specified location.The runtime timestamp is appended to the file name to insure unique file names. Note that this save operation does not affect the report definition itself.
To open a report in a separate browser window, click
the Pop Out icon in the main toolbar:

To display the report in the current window again,
click the Pop In icon in the main toolbar:

Opening a report instance in the Report Viewer opens the report with its embedded data array.

Toolbar options are provided for the following tasks:
To re-run and save the report instance, click the Refresh icon to view the underlying report definition. A new report view opens that is based on the report definition embedded in this report instance.

You can add and remove the currently open report instance to the Favorite Reports tree in the same way as described for report definitions in section Adding and Removing from Favorite Reports.
You can open a report instance in a separate browser window in the same way as described for report definitions in section Opening Reports in a separate window.
