The Instance Diagram Editor allows you to set explicit values for any of the defined attributes of a specified class instance. There are three basic types of attributes in a class instance:
When you create a new class instance, the Instance Diagram Editor supports the default values defined in the underlying Tigerstripe data model.
You can easily set values for non-primitive attributes, in a class instance that represents references to other instances, by selecting an instance of the same datatype as the attribute as defined in the underlying class diagram. The value of a referenced attribute is set to the name of the class instance or class instances to which it refers. A set of references to multiple instances are displayed as a single string containing a comma-separated list of instance names.
The number of values that you can set for non-primitive attributes is limited to the number of values defined in the underlying data model. For example, for attributes constrained to hold no more than one reference you cannot set more than one reference to that attribute.
